Arkansas Traveler aka Traveler

a coupleThis tomato was bred in Arkansas and it handles heat and humidity well. The fruit are medium sized, 6-8 oz, perfect little pink globes with good production. They rarely show any defects and look like a store bought tomato, but they sure taste a whole lot better!

Story:

Here is another great tomato bred by Joe McFerran of the University of Arkansas and released with the name Traveler in 1970 or 71. Somewhere along the way the name Arkansas got added to the name. Here are a couple of interesting links with information about Joe McFerran and the Traveler tomato.
