Bear Claw

Really good large pink tomato with lots of flavor. They are usually about a pound but can get up to 1 ½ lbs. The texture is very meaty with a wonderful sweet flavor. Production is very good.

Story:

This tomato is said to have come from Greenbriar County, West Virginia and was first listed in the SSE Yearbook in 1984 by Kim Cary of Batesville, VA (VA CA K). It was later listed by another member and mentioned as being part of the collection of Ben Quisenberry – the tomato collector who “introduced” Brandywine.
