Black Krim

A highly rated dark tomato with excellent rich flavor that is a favorite of many; it is a medium to large, slightly flattened beefsteak of 8-14 oz. The color is a darkish purple that if has enough heat when ripening can be a much darker color. Most fruit have the usual green shoulders. It is best eaten within a day or two of picking. Production is good, depending on weather, of course. Strongly recommended.

From Tatiana’s TOMATObase:

“Ukrainian heirloom from Crimea region of Black Sea (Ukraine). First offered in the SSE 1990 Yearbook by Lars Olov Rosenstrom of Bromma, Sweden (SWED RO L), who described it as: "...a black tomato from Krim in Russia (Black Sea) (Tatiana's note: 'Krim' is actually in the Ukraine), needs heat (greenhouse) to turn black, outdoors in cold season will only be deep brown-purple."
