Brandywine, OTV

A lovely red beefsteak with orange undertones. Fruits are usually about a lb. and it has a wonderful sweet, balanced flavor that is very smooth and creamy. It is able to handle the heat well and still set fruit.

From Tatiana’s TOMATObase: A natural cross of Yellow Brandywine and an unknown red parent; de-hybridized by Carolyn Male (NY MA C) for five years; named and released by Carolyn Male and Craig LeHoullier (NC LE C) in 1996 during the period they co-wrote a heirlomm tomato newsletter – Off the Vine (which OTV stand for). One of the 100 heirloom tomatoes noted in Carolyn J. Male's book "100 Heirloom Tomatoes for the American Garden".
