A wonderful dark cherry tomato that is accurately named. It is definitely a copy of Carbon with fruit size ranging from cherry to a little larger. Same wonderful flavor, very intense for a cherry.
The fruits do have a tendency to crack with rain, so pick when they are turning color and ripen inside on the counter. Good production and it even keeps producing in heat. Wonderful flavor for a cherry tomato!
Ron Rhyne of Muskogee, OK, a member of Tomatoville, wanted to create a cherry tomato that tasted as good as Carbon so he bred it with many other cherries. Only one came out this nice dark color and flavor. Others at Tomatoville helped with the growouts and it is now stable.
