De Giorgi Acme

This is a very nice large red beefsteak. It can grow to be 10-20 oz which is nice and large for an early tomato. Fruit are not sweet but not strongly acidic, either - more mild in taste and nice and meaty. I really enjoyed this one. A good all purpose tomato with great production.

Story:

From Tatiana’s TOMATObase:

  • Offered commercially by the De Giorgi Brothers Seed Company of Council Bluffs, Iowa, who were in business in the early 1900s and contemporaries of the A. W. Livingston Seed Company. The Acme, De Giorgi tomato seems to be different from the Livingston's Acme.
  • United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), PI 645410. Donated to USDA in 1985.
