Dinner Plate

Fruits of this one can grow quite large, up to 2 lbs, but most will be just a nice size to fill a sandwich. It is an excellent red slicing tomato, both meaty and juicy with a very good flavor and lovely dark red flesh. The shape is more of a heart shaped beefsteak with very good production.

Story:

From Tatiana’s TOMATObase:

An heirloom tomato that traces back at least to the SSE 1982 Yearbook, where it was listed by Will Bonsall of Maine (ME BO W), or earlier. (I do not have earlier Yearbooks .) Both heart-shaped and beefsteak fruit, pink and red have been reported. The original, correct version should be red heart-shaped.
