Wonderful MI heirloom red heart tomato with fantastic yields. Nice large size of around a lb with meaty texture but enough juice to make it good for eating fresh. Flavor is excellent – a favorite of all who try it. This is a hard to find tomato, so I am proud to grow and save seeds for it.
Robert Fromm of Royal Oak, MI had a neighbor Francesca who was known for her tomato sauce. Her husband Rinaldo immigrated from Italy in 1947 and carried the seeds to this tomato with him along with another variety, Rinaldo. These two varieties have been their favorites for over 60 years
