Gold Medal

These yellow tomatoes are heavily marbled with red, both inside and out. They make beautiful slices and have a very good sweet flavor. The fruit have small seed cavities and solid flesh. Large vines have moderate production of 8-12 oz fruit. Staking or caging is recommended.

It was introduced in 1976 by the late Ben Quisenberry, who renamed Ruby Gold tomato. Five commercial sources noted for 2004 in Garden Seed Inventory 6th edition where it is stated that the variety “grows well in cool overnight temperatures”...Was the winner of 2008 SSE Tomato Tasting.
