An awesome tomato that comes from Germany – translates to Teacher Tomato. Large red beefsteaks averaging a lb.or more have a very nice flavor. Flesh is very meaty with few seeds and they make excellent slices. Fruit are slightly ribbed and production is very good and fairly early. This is another very uncommon tomato we are proud to carry.

Probably this tomato originated in South Tirol (now Northern Italy which in former times was a part of Austria, many people are speaking German, thus the German name). Whether a teacher was the breeder, I don't know…”
