Prue is a rare and rather unusual paste tomato that actually has a lot of flavor, along with being meaty. The flavor is very rich and outstanding. The fruits grow in several different shapes all on the same plant, with the majority being large plum or elongated heart shaped. Fruit are usually about 6-8 oz but some are over a lb. The plant itself has the wispy leaves that look like the plant is sick but that is just the way it grows. Production is fair to good, but the flavor is worth it.

Originated from Tom Gallucci of Connecticut. Seeds came from Tom's ex-wife's grandfather, Mr. Prue of Massachusetts, who was born around 1900 and had been growing this tomato since the 1940s or earlier. Original source is unknown.
