Story:
From Tatiana’s TOMATObase:
Commercial heirloom variety. Developed by Dr. Lewis Darby in England, from a cross of Ailsa Craig with an unknown variety, likely in the 50-60s. Tangella and Craigella are other two selections from the same cross.
Large for a cherry tomato, averaging 2 oz or larger, they are a bright orangey red with golden orange stripes or zig zags making for a very striking appearance. It is fun to watch this one mature and the changing of the colors that start out green. Flesh is also a bright orangey red and nice and meaty. Flavor is more on the tart and tangy side. Very popular in England. Yields are very good.
