When winter is here, this is what we dream of growing – a nice beefsteak tomato loaded with flavor with a nice big slice on a hamburger or sandwich.

Many of our heirlooms are beefsteaks known for their awesome flavor, like Brandywine or Mortgage Lifter. And many of these heirlooms have wonderful stories of how they were created or how they were kept alive through seed saving.

The classic American beefsteak tomato is usually large, meaty and juicy and comes in many colors from the usual red to pink, yellow, orange, and now darks and green when ripes. Grow a really large beefsteak and amaze your neighbors.
